In a climate of economic challenges, Rochester’s entrepreneurial spirit is exceptionally strong. Rochester entrepreneurs are granted patents at a rate six times higher than the national average. It is the second largest provider of private sector jobs in New York State.
Over the years, local companies have developed exciting technologies but it may not match the market opportunities. Consequently, that technology sits on a shelf, never realizing its potential and showing up on balance sheets as cost without return.
The technology marketplace pavilion and theater brings together buyers, sellers, intellectual property experts, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to discuss technologies, and potentially turns these investments from expense into revenue. The theater will feature presentations by subject matter experts in all technology transfer and strategic alliance categories.
