Athletic
Portfolio/Accomplishments: John has been
competing in triathlon since the spring of 1990. He first
became interested in triathlon when a friend mentioned
a run-bike-canoe event. He participated in the event and
winded up in third place in his age group.
He spent that winter
learning to swim and participating in conventional
triathlons in the following spring.
Notable Performances (previous
two years):
- Four Completed Ironman Distance

- Proposed Ironman Distance Races:
- Ironman Florida - November 2002
- Ironman Lake Placid - July - 2003
John doesn't have any set mileage per
week. He maps a plan keyed on selected races each
year. The last several years he has focused on the Ironman
distance events where he seems to feel better in the latter
stages of the longer events (at least so far). This has
resulted in a training regiment of working up to a final
thirteen week push of training before the ironman distance
event and then an extended period of r and r afterwards.
